What is the difference between 'stamped' and 'counted' cross stitch?
Stamped cross stitch is when the pattern is printed directly onto the fabric. Counted cross stitch is when the pattern is provided seperately and the stitcher must count the number of stitches they must sew to transfer the pattern to the fabric. All Spruce Craft Co. kits are 'counted' because we think counted is way more satisfying!
What does 14 count mean?
14 (or 11, 16, or 18) count refers to to the type of fabric used. The fabric is a gridded evenweave and 14 count fabric has 14 squares per inch. 18 count has 18 squares per inch, and therefore the stitches and overall design will be smaller.
